8th April – Unique Unicorns – Animal Yoga

Today we discussed the eight limbs of yoga and what each limb means to us. After thinking about Dharana (the 6th limb), which makes us ponder our concentration, we spent 7 minutes of a song mindfully colouring the animal mask we had chosen in silence. We then did some breath work before moving to the third limb, asana. Our physical practise saw us completing rounds of sun salutations and then we used images of animals doing yoga to influence our own poses. We did bow pose , triangle pose and warriors . The session ended with a guided meditation (Dyhana – limb 8) in savasana as the children thought about the way animals have their own unique qualities and using this notion to celebrate our own beautiful qualities.
